Economics in the very basic sense is the management of resources. A large part of classical anthropological research was just that; how people used and distributed their resources whether it be meat from a hunt or farmland. Today there is a whole sub-discipline of economic anthropology that looks only at these aspects of the human experience. The essential difference between the field of economics and anthropology is that the former uses a quantitative approach (numbers) and the latter uses a qualitative (impressions).
