How does the Amazon get fed?

The Amazon River is fed by smaller tributaries which are in turn fed by heavy rainfall from the Andes Mountains. Moist air moves East to West, hitting the east side of the Andes Mountains, where much of it falls, runs down the mountain and eventually ends up in the Amazon River.
