How does algae use the sunlight for energy?

    Algae use the sunlight for energy through photosynthesis. It’s the same process that plants use sunlight to grow. For algae, certain cells absorb sunlight and convert the carbon dioxide to new biomass cells. This is why sunlight causes algae to grow.
