Generating electricity with the use of fossil fuels can largely contribute to global warming. The use of coal and the means used to extract it (mountain top removal) can be very harmful to the environment as well. “In this process, coal companies deforest a mountain to be mined, use explosives to blast the top layer off (up to 500 feet) and pick off the seams of exposed coal for use to generate electricity.”

The use of electricity affects our environment in a great deal. Our ozone layer is growing all because of all the energy we utilize which is generated from foosil fuels, such as coal, natural gas, and oil.
