Treating swine flu is basically the same as treating any other flu with a couple exceptions. Naturally, if you have cold-like symptoms (coughing, runny nose, sneezing, you need to take care of yourself with lots of fluids and lots of rest, as well as using cold medicine. You should also stay home if you think you have it because swine flu spreads quickly. The part that’s different than the typical flu or cold is that you have to monitor your symptoms. If you get feverish, throw up, have diarrhea, shortness of breath, chest pain, and dizziness, go to the hospital immediately. If you do have swine flu, your doctor should prescribe antivirals (Tamiflu and Relenza in particular).
