Assuming the june bugs are a severe enough problem, insecticide is effective in killing them. For typical homeowners, using a small amount will suffice – carbaryl based insecticides would require about 3 oz insecticide to 1000 sq. feet. Acephate based insecticides would require 1.1 oz in 3 gallons of water for 1000 sq feet.
The time of year the insecticide is used also impacts its effectiveness. Generally, it should be sometime between August and October or a second application may be required.
