Is it an adult butterfly or egg, larvae or pupae? For the latter, there are multiple techniques in the first citation below for them such as using the refrigerator or alpine overwintering technique. Also check out the last citation for how to feed and care for an adult butterfly.
Also you can do it with using water with sugar and with some flowers which are blooming during winter time, of course if you want to have butterflies in active condition, if not, you have to use rafrigirator;)
