Unlike most berries, strawberries have their seeds on the outside. There are two methods that can be used to extract them from the fruit. One is to allow the fruit to dry and then, holding it over a clean container, rub it between your finger and thumb to allow the seeds to fall off. The other method is to press the pulp of the mature fruit gently through a sieve, leaving the seeds in the sieve, and wash the seeds under running water while they are still in the sieve.
You can either let the fruit dry and then rub and shake them off, or mash into a pulp and squeeze the seeds through a seive to separate them from the flesh.
