Wireless battery chargers work on the principle of inductive charing. Inductive charging requires an adapter with contact points on it that attaches to a device’s back plate. When the point connects, a small current moves through the coils of the charging pad which creates a magnetic field that is collected by the contact points and turned into energy that charges the devices.
Standard chargers just create a current that includes the battery (capacitor) in the device — wireless charges induct a current inside the device to be charged using a magnetic field, which is created through a current in, say, the wireless charging pad.
