How do wind scoops on homes work?

A windscoop is basically a sail shaped piece of nylon-like material that you can put on your roof to let breezes into your home.  They are typically used on boats to keep a breeze going through the main cabin.  In order to use one of these in your home you would have to have a skylight that opens up.  The windscoop is aerodynamically designed to force breezes into your room to keep you cool.
