How do whales deal with the pressure at the depths that they dive?

Whales can dive to great depths and handle the water pressure due to their bodies being more flexible than humans. Their ribs are surrounded by loose cartilage, which allows the rib cage to collapse under high pressure. The lungs can also collapse as well.
