How do we prevent nuclear leaks in power plants?

By being careful and properly maintaining them. Nuclear power plants are able to produce large amounts of energy for their respective size. The main issue is making sure the nuclear core of the power plant is kept under water and cool enough that it doesn’t create a meltdown, like what happened in Chernobyl (USSR) and nearly happened at 3 Mile Island in the US. While I think there are better means of producing clean electricity nuclear is often looked to as a step towards becoming more sustainable.
