How do we make silk?

We super feed silkworms lots of mulberry leaves to make them much heavier than the naturally are. Then as they begin to make their cocoons out of the protein fibers we know as silk, we extract the silk from the worms. Once the cocoon is complete they are heated to the point that the potential moth inside dies and then the silk is unwound and made into whatever product it was destined for.
