Pine nuts are the edible portion of pine cones in 20 species of pine that can be cultivated for food. These pine cones must be collected and the seed must be taken from the end of the wing. Trying to secure the nuts in spite of critters can be a problem, so devices can be set up that are slingshots to hit high branches and trapeze nets to capture the harvest.
