How do we get rid of plastics that contain BPA?

Scientists in India recently discovered a way to breakdown BPA containing plastic.  First they treat it with UV light and heat.  They then allow a special strain of fungi to decompose the plastic.  These fungi are able to use the pretreated plastic as an energy source.  After twelve months, a substantial amount of the plastic was decomposed (as compared to untreated plastic) and no BPA was released during its decomposition.
