How do we get the info from satellites down to earth?

Satelites transmit information within radio frequency bands; usually a C-band or higher KU-band. These satelites are designed to focus on different ranges of frequency bands and different power levels at particular geographic areas. The Earth receives, amplfies, and redirects analog and digital signals carried on a specified radio frequency from the communicating satelite (Intelsat, 2011).
