There is a federal organizationg called Forest Health Monitoring. The status, changes, and trends of forest health are monitored, and the data obtained from studies of the forest can then by analyed using GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and spatial statistical graphs. Data from the field must be obtained from tree specialists, and different aspects of the forest, from insect habitation to leaf damage are analyzed.
