How do warmer ocean temperatures affect life on land?

The effects of ocean warming are many
    -strengthening of hurricane systems
-quickening the melting of Arctic sea ice, which eventually deteriorates the Greenland ice sheet and in turn affects sea levels
-bleaches coral reefs, or can kill them off – dangerous losses of biodiversity
    – hurt phytoplankton, which disrupts the foundation of the ocean’s food chain and means less absorption of carbon by the ocean
