How do vaccines work?

Vaccines are an amazing thing that we use to prevent ourselves from getting diseases. When someone is given a vaccination, it is actually a form of the disease that they are trying to prevent. However, this strain is usually very weak and easily countered by your immune system. When you receive a vaccination, your body identifies and attacks the disease, creating antibodies for the specific disease. These antibodies remain in your genetic make-up so if you ever contract a stronger and more resilient form of the disease, your body alre4ady has the antibodies or battle plans to attack and defeat the disease. So when you get a vaccine your really getting sick on purpose!

Another form of vaccination introduces a dead version of the disease into the human body. Think of it as briefing the little army of your white blood cells with the corpse of the enemy 🙂
