How do the tribes in the Amazon deal with the flooding of the Amazon river?

I imagine they can’t do much about it, but because some are not entirely sedentary tribes they can pack up and move to a safer area when the river begins to flood. I think adapting to changes like these are easier for them because they are accustomed to living off the land, so when conditions change they are forced to change too. Since the excess water would probably kill all the nearby vegetation, I’m guessing the tribes would have to eat fish until they can find more greens.
