how do tentacles pick up movement?

Tentacles have cells called cnidoblasts in their tentacles, in those they have things called nematocysts. On the cnidoblasts there is a trigger mechanism that reacts to anything running into it. This triggers a stinging thread that is iin the nematocysts to discharge, piercing the object that ran into it and injecting poison into it.
