How do sunspots affect the weather?

    There has been much discussion around this point recently. Sunspots are flare ups on the surface of the sun that send a burst of heat out and affect the weather of space. Recent research is leading scientists to believe that these flare ups also effect the weather of the earth as well, caused by the bursts of extra heat.
