The same way they get normal produce, its delivered by the producers and/or transported by the grocery store themselves.
Logistically, Safeway (for example) is giving a purchasing priority to producers local to their stores, especially in California where agriculture dominates a great deal of the state. Whatever the process is for buying foods that are transported great distances, the process is not very different for local produce, and is probably easier actually.
