ebay, for one, has an option where you can donate part of your sales (if you are a vendor) to a nonprofit organization, which could be an environmentally-oriented organization. They also make donations to environmentally-oriented organizations.
Craigslist has forums where ecologically-oriented people can connect and discuss issues and changes for their area.
Both sites, because they are online, reduce paper waste.
These sites also provide individuals a way to sell items they might otherwise throw away, or give new life to the items someone else has no need for. That is much more environmentally (and economically) friendly than buying new.
