How do sand bubbler crabs make those little sand balls?

Sand-bubbler crabs create their sandballs in a rather unique way. After emerging from the sand during low tide, they sort through the sand, meticulously searching for scraps of food. Each crab prospects a pile of sand, then, once finished, get gathers it into a ball and leaves it behind. Their sandballs are nothing more than their leftovers.
