The biggest cause of global warming is CO2 emitted into the atmosphere, and the bulk of CO2 in the atmosphere is the result of human activities. According to the EPA (using 2000 figures), 55% of all greenhouse gas emissions were due to CO2 released from the burning of fossil fuels and the production of cement, and another 19% were due to CO2 released due to land use change and forestry. Both of these are exclusively human activities.
