How do people in the arctic get the energy for their houses?

Diesel fuel power was most common, but due to its dramatically rising prices in the Arctic, arctic countries are switching to more economical and ecofriendly means.  In Alaska, a diesel-wind generation hybrid is used.  In Iceland, geothermal energy heats the majority of homes.  Hydroelectric power also plays a part in arctic electricity.
