Since other nations are run by other types of governments and are home to different cultures and lifestyles, it is only natural that the go green in different ways.
For example, Denmark, one of the most environmentally sustainable countries in the world, is a social democracy. This means that there are VERY high taxes, and many green programs are run by the government. They also have a very well funded public transportation system and bike path system. This combined with the governments heavy taxes on cars and drivers licesences means that most Danes use greener forms of transportation. They also have a different climate than we do in the U.S., and Denmark is ideally located to harvest windpower. About 20% of Denmark’s energy use is supplied by wind power. Denmark is a wonderful example for other countries to follow, but it is hard because every country has different governments and infrastructure.
