How do organic grocery sales compare to non-organic?

Though I saw many websites claiming that the sales of organic foods are declining, not too surprising considering they are generally more expensive than are non-organic, not a welcome option in today’s economy, until 2008 organic food sales were increasing 17 to 20% annually. This compares to only a two to three percent increase in sales for non-organic. Of course, there are still more non-organic options available, but in 2003 44% of organic food sales were made in mainstream grocery stores and club stores, and this number has been steadily increasing.
