How do the minerals inside of the eggs in Australia get there?

Minerals in an animal-based whole food (that is, not cheeses because they are processed to a degree) get there by being in the food that the animal giving you the product consumes. For example, a chicken that consumes mineral-rich feed will produce eggs that are rich in minerals as well. Diet of livestock directly influences the nutritional quality of the livestock’s food products.
