How do minerals get into water?

If it is tap water, water treatment plants put minerals in the water in order to strengthen the health of the populous.

If it is natural water, those minerals are carried through the water from the earth.

Unfortunately, though, our bodies can’t absorb a lot of the minerals that companies add to bottled water.

To go into slightly more detail, minerals get into natural water because water can dissolve minerals to the point where they are present in the water. Water is known as “the universal solvent” due to its mineral-dissolving properties. Although most minerals take a long time to get absorbed into water, certain minerals can get absorbed rapidly into water. These minerals are known as soluble minerals.
