The K-Cup Portion Pack is not recyclable. It is made with petroleum based aluminum and the heat-sealing process they use to make packs airtight make it extremely difficult to reuse and/or recycle. Though Green Mountain Coffee Company has said they understand this is their largest issue in reducing their environmental footprint they have announced no alternatives. They continue to do research, but the only other statement issued is that they are trying to decide what the label “environmentally friendly” should mean on their packaging.
