Most crayfish are coldwater species, so you won’t need a heater. However, you may want to double check and make sure yours isn’t a tropical species. Make sure to keep the water well-filtered. Crayfish will eat pretty much any generic fish food, but its recommended you throw a feeder fish in every once in a while to give the little guy protein. They will also eat fresh fruits and vegetables if you want to go the extra mile in taking care of your new pet.
