How do I know if my garden vegetables are being contaminated by airborne pollution?

It would be really difficult to know without doing very expensive soil and water tests. Airborne pollution containing heavy metals will normally leak into the soil and therefore into your plants. Be sensitive to your plants – if they look unhealthy and you are in an area that could be highly contaminated, I would say don’t eat them. Also, pay attention to taste. There are certain plants that are less likely to be affected by contamination, read article below.
