How do I know if the beef I am buying is coming from the rainforest?

In the United States (and in most Western countries) COOL laws protect consumers- Country of Origin Labeling is now required for raw meats not sold in restaurants. It is important to realize that many cattle are bred in Latin America and raised and processed in the USA; the label will not always distinguish this.
Most of the rainforest is found in Brazil, which is one of the larger producers of beef in South America; avoid any meat products labeled with a Brazilian origin.
