I haven’t tried this myself, but I found an article that recommends first freezing your books – yes, throwing them in the freezer! The cold will make the mold dormant and keep it from spreading. Then, very carefully vacuum clean the spine, covers, and the pages. The book can then be wiped with a rag to remove any remaining mold. I would suggest trying this approach with your least favorite cookbook, and if it is successful, them move on to a new book. Good luck!
