Toxins get into children’s toys when chemicals are added to the plastics they are made out of in order to make them softer, more flexible or shatter resistant. This is especially the case in toys made in China where regulations regarding the materials toys are made of are under less strict control. Many states have made laws to ban these chemicals from being used in toys made in the USA, but not all states have succeeding in passing the laws.
