How do gophers hurt the environment?

  1. 0 Votes

Gophers can dig and displace large amounts of dirt and create extensive tunnels underground. This can destroy plants used in landscaping and unsightly mounds of dirt and holes above ground. Also, gophers eat a variety of plants.

Although they are considered pests by many, some areas have programs and initiatives where they will trap gophers and relocate them instead of destroying them outright.
