How do fungi help trees grow?

Fungi have the ability to break down minerals that are contained within soil that trees would otherwise not be able to utilize.  By doing so, fungi is a crucial element in the growth of many plants and trees.  This is called a mycorrhiza relationship.

    Hope this helps!
