How do fossil fuels compare re GHG emissions before combustion?

The actual burning of fuel in cars produces the greatest amount of GHG emissions, I understand, but how does the production of conventional oil, tar sands oil, natural gas, etc compare prior to that point? Is there a phrase we use for this? (i. e.well to tank as opposed to well to tire…something like that. Thanks.
