One relatively easy method is for organic farmers to bring their vegetables to a “terminal market”. Once the food is delivered there it is met by waiting buyers from chain stores and distributors from other markets in the region. The buying decisions and further marketing decisions are therefore handled not by the farmer but by the representatives of the various markets. One of the advantages for the farmer is that he can sell a large quantity of goods at one time. One of the disadvantages is that he has to transport all of his goods to the terminal market on his own.
