Our bodies convert carbohydrates into three different types of sugar, glucose, fructose, and galactose. These sugars act as our bodies fuel. One could make the case that carbohydrates are the most important part of our diet, especially for someone who’s active. Carbohydrates that are not used are stored in muscles and the liver, and when those glycogen stores are full, our body converts the any excessive sugar into fat.
