Amoebas move by altering their body’s shape to create pseudo-pods. Their pseudo-pods (which translates to “false foot”) surround a particle of food like a bubble and digest it. Their diet consists mainly algae, bacteria and protozoa. Paramecium accomplish locomotion by the use of cilia, microscopic hairs that propel them through the water like paddles.
