It was during Theodore Roosevelt’s administration that the first national parks were designated in the U.S. Some of these include the most famous parks in the States, such as Yosemite and Yellow Stone. The U.S. national park system furthermore was one of the first in the world and has been replicated in many other countries.
Teddy Roosevelt pushed to create the National Park Service, which was enacted by Congress in 1916. It really was one of the most important things for the environment, because it officially recognized that natural lands have value.
