How did Rolling Stone find their 17 worst climate killers?

It seems that the author, Tim Dickinson, is simply very knowledgable about and did his homework on the big names in ecenomics and politics as far as climate change goes. Among others, he interviewed the Sierra Club, Center for American Progress, and Greenpeace members, likely asking them for their top picks. He also quotes the “climate killers” themselves, indicating that he (and likely his staff) read their writing and watched speeches. Basically, the research methods are not given, but Dickinson seems to have some specialized knowledge already and has talked to other people and organizations who do.
