Last week, over seven hundred French men and women posed naked in vineyards in Burgundy, the heart of France’s wine country, to draw attention to a particularly harmful effect that global warming will have on vineyards. According to a recent Greenpeace report, global warming will cause wine quality to decline: “Wines end up having higher sugar levels and alcohol content while retaining less acids – which means they are unbalanced with an overripe flavour and heavier texture.” The event in Burgundy was organized by Spencer Tunick, who is known for mass nude artworks that draw attention to various effects of climate change.
