How did penguins help with the new Patagonian Sea atlas?

The Wildlife Conservation Society fitted penguins (along with albatrosses, sea lions, seals and other Patagonian animals) with satellite transmitters. The information from these transmitters has helped the WCS map this little-known region of the arctic off the tip of South America. The transmitters also enabled the WCS to track five species of albatross, three species of petrel, four varieties of penguin, two fur seal species, the South American sea lion, and the southern elephant seal.
