How did humans survive the ice ages?

Surviving the ice age was only made possible by humans hunting, development of better clothing, and mastering of fire.  Even with these things going for them, humans were not exactly thriving.  It has been estimated that only 2,500 people inhabited England and Wales during the ice age.

    Hope this helps!
