GE’s new LED light bulb makes use of their “dual cool jets” technology, originally developed for their work on fluid dynamics for jet engines. These jets pull in heat at a certain speed, but eject it much faster. This means that the LEDs run cooler, which makes them more efficient. More efficient LEDs use less energy, and you need less of them to make the same amount of light, so the new bulbs are cheaper.
The new GE light bulb employs cooling technology also found in jet engines and wind turbines. The dual cool jets move air across the heat sink thereby increasing heat transference. This also increases the efficiency and lifespan of the light bulb.
