How did facebook decide what the gross national happiness was?

Users of Facebook update their “status” with brief descriptors of their mood and situation. Gross National Happiness (GNH) is designed to measure how well-off, happy, or satisfied a collective nation is based on the well-being of a segment of its citizens. A computer researching GNH through Facebook measures the relative positivity or negativity of words used to describe users’ status. GNH is the difference between the positivity and negativity scores from a given day.
